Coronavirus Pandemic LIVE Updates: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today said the number of positive cases due to the coronavirus outbreak has risen to 519 across the country. Kerala, with 87, pushed ahead of Maharashtra, with 86. The Himachal Pradesh government today said it will impose a statewide curfew beginning 5pm on Tuesday, becoming the latest state to resort to stricter measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government said the number of cases in the state has soared to 107. The state has already witnessed three COVID-19-related deaths.
A 65-year-old coronavirus patient has died in Mumbai, taking the death toll due to COVID-19 to three in the metropolis and 10 across India. The man recently returned from the United Arab Emirates to Ahmedabad. He later complained of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. He also had pre-existing ailments, including high blood pressure and severe diabetes. A 23-year-old woman tested positive for the coronavirus in Manipur, the first confirmed case in the Northeast. The woman had recently returned from the UK. She had returned to Imphal via Delhi and Guwahati airports.

Cabinet Secretary Asks States to Earmark Hospitals for COVID-19 | Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba writes to Chief Secretaries of States. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that the last date for filing 2018-19 Income Tax return, GST return, and linking of Aadhaar-PAN has been extended to June 30 as majority of India goes under lockdown to arrest the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The finance minister added that cash withdrawals from ATMs if any bank will be free for three months and that an economic package to help through the lockdown will be announced soon.
Nearly 500 coronavirus cases have been reported in India so far, according to Health Ministry data. According to the data updated Tuesday morning, the total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 492, including 446 active cases. The figure includes 41 foreign nationals and the nine deaths reported so far.
West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh reported a casualty each on Monday while seven deaths were earlier reported from Maharashtra (two), Bihar, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat and Punjab. Thirty-seven people have been cured/discharged/migrated, it added.
The number of active cases at 446 saw an increase of 22 from last night's figure. As cases of the viral infection surged, authorities have put almost the entire country under lockdown, banning gathering of people and suspending road, rail and air traffic till March 31.
